FAQs about pee rags

A Wander Wipe, otherwise known as a "PeeRag" is simply an upgraded bamboo reusable fabric cloth used to wipe (pee only) instead of using toilet paper. This helps eliminate waste, having to pack out toilet paper when outdoors and is a great sustainable product at home too. There are a few design options from minimalist ultralight Wipes to double layered and waterproof. Find one that works best for you.

Arguably, healthy urine is sterile.

However, the ick factor always comes up. I kept this in mind as I created the design. It needed to be user friendly and allow for some discretion for hesitant pee rag users. Wander Wipes are designed with a fabric that is antimicrobial, hypoallergenic and moisture regulating. The black bamboo fabric is great for use during your moon cycle.

The double layer design is helpful in two ways; the inner layer that you use to wipe with, is under the waterproof top layer, leaving it unexposed with no contact with gear and hands. Hey, what happens under there is your business and the hanging design keeps it that way! The outer layer is what you handle and the waterproof fabric keeps hands, packs and pockets dry. Hanging your Wander Wipe from your pack with the secure loop allows the sun and air to keep it dry between uses. 

They are easy to care for. Hand washing is best for the longevity of the fabric, however it can be washed in a machine with cool water and mild detergent. Hanging it to dry is recommended. 

When out on multiple day trips, I suggest carefully rinsing it with boiled or filtered water and letting it air dry. A good bake in the sun is also beneficial. 

There is a handy, sewn in secure loop that will allow it to be connected to the outside of your pack after its been used. There is a reflective cord for attachment and locating it with a headlamp. 

I recommend keeping it hanging and exposed as much as possible to maintain dryness. The wipe can also be folded and stored in a pocket. Pair it with a retractable leash to keep your Wipe in reach and let you keep your pack on to pee.

The design of a Wander Wipe is meant to be an upgrade. Simply put, one side keeps your hands and pack dry and a bit more sanitary. The using side is super soft bamboo. Naturally antimicrobial and 40% more absorbent than cotton, making it a good fabric choice for our lady bits. Functional features make it a breeze to use. 

I've tried multiple times to successfully connect a bandana to my pack and was constantly falling off or dragging the ground. I've also found bandanas to be stiff, scratchy and contain questionable chemicals that I'd prefer to keep away from sensitive areas. This product is the result of 1000's of miles backpacking and peeing outside. I hope you enjoy it and find it as useful as it was designed to be.
